Once an SEO Expert allows the client to run a campaign, all is lost as he would then have a novice at the helm (the client). The SEO out of politeness trys his or her best to accomodate the client, but it is in the clients best interest to have an experience professional at the helm.

There is no reason what so ever that a client should ever have a role in the search optimization process. A small percentage of SEO clients define success by how many reports are issued or how many links they are getting. How often you call etc. NONE of which has anything to do with SEO.

You can not have a client who has no SEO experience what so ever calling the shots. I run my SEO campaigns with the clients vision as a guide, but most of the time you can expect to hear no alot if you want spinning lava lamps on your website, or if you want to add non relevant content or game Google. The mountain of traffic and success is there. It is so simple, you just need to play by the rules.

How to Evaluate an SEO

Start by asking the SEO Expert to show you examples of their work. Do you see links at the bottom of each page running a little advertisement back to their site? If so they may not be the most ethical SEO Company to hire.

I had a client recently tell me that he was told some information from an SEO Expert and it contradicted what I had told him. I finally got him to admit he was getting advice from an SEO Company on a chat board. I was just wondering how a reputable seo company would have time to dispence free information on a board if it had any clients at all. My clients keep me busy 24/7 and I definately do NOT have time to debate seo for free with strangers on a chat board. I do not know of any real SEO company who takes them seriously.
